Cilantro Lime Turnip Slaw and Honey Mustard Slaw
Ingredients:
Crunchy veggies of choice (cabbage, carrot, turnips, green onions, or kohlrabi): These will create the base to your slaw. Think outside the box and grab any crunchy vegetable you have on hand.
Cilantro: An essential to any slaw.
Acid of choice, olive oil and yogurt (optional for a creamy slaw): Lime juice or apple cider vinegar combine with olive oil to create a beautiful dressing. Want to make it creamy? Add a dollop of your favorite yogurt.
Coriander, cumin, salt & pepper: For seasoning.
Steps to Culinary Bliss:
- Water Bath Turnips: Julienned turnips can be placed in an ice bath to enhance their flavor.
- Salt Cabbage: Lightly salt cabbage and let sit before mixing with other vegetables. This step will prevent a soggy slaw.
- Bonus Tip: Add sliced green onions to ice bath to mellow their flavor.
Storage Tips:
- Not ready to serve? Keep prepped vegetables separate from dressing until 15-20 before serving. Once dressed slaw will remain crunchy for 2 hours.
